You Will Create An Outreach And Communication Portfolio: Digital Information Management Assignment, UCD, Ireland

For this project, you will create an outreach and communication portfolio that addresses an outreach and communication problem(s) for a real institution/organization.  Throughout the lessons this semester, you have received instruction on how to create different outreach and communication items.

These items include:

-measurement plan for access and outreach

-user study plan

-impact assessment plan

-social justice assessment plan

-instruction lesson plan

-advocacy plan

-marketing plan

-policy (several, external-facing)

Please review the lessons for information about how to best complete each plan/assessment.  For the portfolio, I’d like you to choose two or more of the items listed above and submit them as a portfolio.  In addition to completing the plan/assessment, you will need to write a reflection as to how the portfolio relates to your interests or career goals in outreach and communication in digital information management.  It is difficult to offer word count guidance (which most students want) as it will depend on which items you choose from the list, but I would suggest in total, the entire portfolio should be approximately 5000 words.

You will need to base your portfolio on a real institution/organization.  If you are currently working, feel free to approach your employer or use your workplace as a case.  If you need help finding a suitable institution, email me and I can try to help.  As working with real institutions can take some advanced planning, I suggest you start the assignment well before the deadline.
