Within this project, I am going to be talking about the discrimination and stigma around people with a mental disorder. I will be doing a lot of research on the chosen group. In this assignment, I will be describing the planning and presentations that was needed to be conducted and completed. I will then be carrying out the methodology within it I will be explaining each of the different research methods and outlining the differences between methods. I will be discussing and explaining each type of mental illness that there is.

The causes, diagnosis, treatment, and the importance of treatment will be identified and explained. I will be discussing how discrimination can occur towards people with a mental illness. I will then be giving examples of theorists that are in relation to the topic. The appropriate research will be taken, primary and secondary research will be explained and conducted.

The impacts of social media will also be listed and looked into, as well as the different types of survey questions and various interview methods. I will provide and discuss my findings from my research. The findings will be analyzed and conclusions will be formed. In the end, I will include my reflection and evaluations throughout the assignment.

The group that I have chosen to carry out my research on is discrimination against people with mental health illnesses. As I think that a lot of people lack understanding of mental illnesses and have a negative view of people who suffer from them. Millions of people suffer from the illness and many people have said that discrimination makes it harder for them to recover. I think it is very important for people to be educated about mental illnesses, their causes, and treatments. As discrimination is still a big problem in the world, being educated and understanding the illnesses helps a lot.

Sociology is a social science. It studies society in a scientific way. It is the study of social life, social causes, and social change. It examines social inequality, patterns of behavior and it goes into detail about how all the different groups work. It improves the understanding of society and the power of social action. It helps us know not only our society but also other individuals like their motives, traditions, institutions, customs, occupations, culture, and status.

Discrimination is when a person or a group is treated unfairly, unequally, or differently based on characteristics such as gender, age, race, sexual orientation, cultural background, disability, beliefs, mental health, ethnicity, family status, nationality and so much more.

Discrimination is usually intended to cause harm to a person by preventing them from getting a job or education or even achieving their goals. Being discriminated against could have a huge impact on your mental health. Discrimination usually arises from people misunderstanding and not educating themselves. How you view certain groups usually stems from your friends and parents.
