What can the organization do to change Mary’s mind about leaving? In doing so, please identify the relevant organizational behaviour concepts. the changes you suggest and why they might work.
Mary likes the company itself and the culture is very easy going and communication is open. It seems that everyone knows what is going on at all times, and if you don’t know about something, it is easy to find out. The offices are in an open layout. and she likes this. but does find herself distracted at times. She and her colleagues are given considerable autonomy and freedom with how they do their work. She was even told when she started that four-day work weeks were allowed so long as she finished her tasks for the week. While she appreciates this. she has not been provided the opportunity nor has she seen other colleagues take this opportunity. It also seems that if she finishes her tasks for the week, her manager just provides her with more tasks that are mundane and she is not sure how the task even relates to her role. She has found herself getting stressed ova projects like this. Upon her reflection on her ride home she finds herself to be upset and annoytml, she doesn’t even want to play that game with her kids that she had promised to today. She is also now considering leaving the role and has even started thinking of other companies that might offer a similar position.
