Some suggestions concerning the preparations of the essay:

1. You may choose the topic that is as close as possible to your field of interest, but do remember that the originality of the topic is of uttermost value for me. I would like to learn something new from reading your paper.

2. Remember about limiting the scope of the topic. “Gender inequality” or “Educational inequalities in Europe” are good themes for multi-volume books. Trying to approach such a broad topics in relatively short essays may lead to superficial and banal results. The more specific topic and the deeper analysis, the better for the outcome.

3. Please remember about referencing the resources used in the paper and providing the bibliography. The authorship of the text will be checked for possible plagiarism (also concerning the usage of AI-based tools like Chat-GPT or Bard).

4. Be critical about the quality of resources used (particularly when found online) and be critical about the quality of argumentation in the works that you read/use/quote. It is always very much welcomed to discuss, question and even dismiss arguments which you consider invalid, unless you have strong counter argumentation of your own.

5. Please use your surname in the title of the file with your essay.

6. Readings available in the syllabus may provide you with a variety of inspirations for the topic.
