Review the research pertaining to neurobiological basis of addiction, evaluating the various current theories, looking particularly at its application to treatment of polydrug addiction in the clinical setting. You will be expected to
1. Examine at least two neurobiological theoretical models, and appraise them in relation to what understanding they offer in relation to addiction.
2. Apply this knowledge to the specific problem of polydrug addiction, examining addiction to at least two classes of drug.
3. Integrate the neurobiology of addiction and the pharmacological treatment of addiction in relation to the above.
4. Appraise the concept of single substance addiction.
