Terex corporation designs and manufactures aerial work platforms and materials processing machinery. Terex products are used across many industries including construction, maintenance, manufacturing, energy, minerals, and materials management applications. With manufacturing sites globally.

Given Terex’s massive product line, the scope of this case study has been limited to just their material processing machinery. These products are mainly used in quarries and are commonly known as “crushers”, there are three main brands manufactured by Terex.

2. Finlay

3. Evo Quip

Terex’s main customers would mainly be large quarries as these machines are expensive with the bulk of machines being shipped to Australia. Terex also has dealers in the North-western Federal District of Russia and recently Nepal.

Within each brand mention above there are three types of model variants that a customer can choose from being

1. Jaw crushers

2. Impact crushers

3. Cone crushers

Each of these machines is built for different applications with jaw crushers being used primarily for larger stone, Impact crushers being used for large to medium stone and cone crushers being used for fine stone.

Once a model has selected the chassis and powertrain are fixed but the customer does have options on specification, similar to a car the customer can add components to a machine, meaning that the customer can select additional conveyors, screeners, and grids to ensure that the selected machine can perform optimally in its given environment.
