Background
Taking orders is always a hassle especially if it’s for big tables, it requires running to bring pen and paper to take orders. Sometimes after taking orders until the waiter to reaches the till to input the order, there are several other tables’ orders that are taken on the way. Moreover, with so many orders taken at once, a few things from the orders are always missed and occasionally some items are forgotten to add to the table for billing.
Another problem is that when the restaurant is full and cannot accommodate more people and in such a busy environment it is difficult to be going at the door to be refusing people as there are no more tables available.
This application will sort out the problems of taking orders as the order can be added to the table right on the spot where it is taken using a smart device, and the kitchen can receive it immediately. The waiter and manager can look after the tables from anywhere and do not need to be at the till all the time to add in items. Furthermore, the manager can view the total amount of sales done throughout the day and how much food has been sold.
The kitchen staff can view the order on their devices and can prepare the food. Once the food is prepared, they can mark them as ready to serve so the waiter can prepare to start serving.
Customers can view the rate of occupancy and they can have an idea of how crowded is the place before coming. Additionally, customers can log in and book a table, where the manager would return an email of confirmation or if the place is too crowded to make a booking. Customers would be able to see what’s the most popular dishes and least popular dishes.
