Learning Outcomes In completing the assessment task, students are required to demonstrate their ability to:

6. Be structured in the same way as a written academic essay using the headings given to structure your critique, develop your argument and convey your ideas clearly.
7. Include an end slide that credits any images, video, etc used. All other references should be included as a Reference List in the word template provided. Use the College’s Harvard System for all referencing.

- To what extent the authors have addressed ethical considerations?
- Is the rigour of the study considered? Have potential biases been outlined?
- Was there a clear and complete description of the method(s) used including sample, instruments, or measures and, if applicable, variables manipulated?
- Did the section include a description of how the data were to be treated in analyses?
Results: In this section consider:
- How did the researchers report the results of their research? Consider both the way that results are presented, and the appropriateness of the analysis techniques.
- To what extent are the findings clearly laid out and communicated to the reader?
- Has a thematic or statistical analysis of the results been presented?
Discussion/Conclusion of the article: The discussion section has the purpose of interpreting and evaluating the study results, giving primary emphasis to the relationship between the results and the hypotheses of the study. In the critique, the following should be considered:
- To what extent did researchers address any limitations in the research and discussed possible areas for further research?
- One might also consider if the researchers discussed how their research added to existing research. Remember to include a conclusion for the audio-visual essay.
