‘’Mental health in the workplace’’ I choose this topic as it is close to me personally. I feel that in this day and age there is a lot of stress placed on people in the workplace to meet deadlines and reach targets that may have an impact on people’s mental health. I think that the HSA has let this topic fall behind and that there is not enough information or guidelines out there to help the employers and the employees that may be suffering.

• Has the HSA done enough to give guidance and provide help & support to employers and employees when it comes to mental health in the workplace?
• Does an employer know the types of issues they might be causing an employee by giving them sure tight deadlines and unrealistic targets to achieve?
• Will an employee know when to ask for help before the workload becomes an issue?
• Who can be affected by mental health in the workplace – both employers and employees?
• When can symptoms of mental health start and is it down to workload or has someone been bullied in the workplace?
• Where can someone suffering from mental health in the workplace go for information & guidance and where to find help.
• Why has it come to this stage for a person in the workplace to be suffering from mental health issues?
• How can the HSA and other people help prevent issues like this from happening in the workplace?
