This assignment is the integrative learning experience for the course. By that, I mean that it draws heavily from what you have learned throughout the course, with the inclusion of references that you choose to draw from when developing your plan. It also draws heavily from your life experiences and your current life circumstances. Only you may best decide the content of the plan based upon what you know to be relevant in your life. It is not meant to be a stagnant plan, but instead a dynamic one, a plan that you visit frequently and revise as you develop throughout your life, and as your life circumstances evolve. It is also not intended to be a complete plan, but when done well, it gives you a great start as to how you might add attributes and goals to the plan at a later date.

As you begin to think about your personal and professional leadership development plan, review the student learning objectives for this course (listed below), incorporating them into your plan. In addition to class resources, please include a minimum of five scholarly references of your choice to complete your leadership plan.

Student Learning Objectives

The purpose of this course is to enhance leadership potential by building a strong foundation based on self‐assessment of character, commitment, and capacity. On completion of this course, students demonstrate:

1. A deepened self-awareness of how personal values fit within a character-based leadership approach.

2. Ability to apply ethically-based tools and models to leadership challenges, decision-making and culture-building.

3. Application of Covey’s seven habits to enhance personal and professional effectiveness.

4. Application of the Arbinger Institute’s self-leadership and self-deception models and the associated theoretical and applied research associated with those models.

5. Ability to identify and apply key concepts related to thought diversity and global business practice as part of an ethically-based leadership model.

6. Recognition of the interrelationship of the wholistic self when developing a personal and professional life plan.

1. Include an introduction and a conclusion to your plan.

2. Citations and references to credible media are a vital part of this assignment. Citations need to include the author(s) last name and the date. For any direct quotes, the citation must also include the page or paragraph number (for webpages). References need to include the author(s) last name and first initial, date of the publication, title of the media, and where it may be found, i.e. journal, book chapter, video, etc. Include the URL if possible.

3. Please carefully edit your work as points will be deducted for grammatical and formatting errors.

4. Submit work in a double-spaced WORD document. Use Calibri or Arial font, size 12 and 1” margins. Include a title page with the document; include page numbers, upper right.

5. According to the dates indicated in the Schedule of Assignments, submit your weekly progress to dropbox. Upload your weekly work-in-progress to dropbox. The purpose of you submitting weekly progress is to make certain that you allow yourself adequate time in completing this assignment.
