Colour-R-Us also manufacture replacement cartridges for their printers but their sales in this area are quite low, mainly because their cartridges are so expensive. In order to boost sales of their cartridges, Colour-R-Us have started to manufacture their printers in such a way that only their cartridges are compatible for use. Brightlight is a competitor cartridge manufacturer and has tried to produce a cartridge usable in the Colour-R-Us printers. However, the software to make the cartridge compatible is a secret that Colour-R-Us are refusing to share with Brightlight or anyone else.
