Section 3: 5 Marks Candidates should show an understanding of how inclusion and integration is implemented in the setting. Candidates should make appropriate links to the relevant legislation and good practice and detail how it applies in the setting. The record should reflect how equality is an integral part of core values within the early childhood setting.
Section 4: 5 Marks Candidates should show an understanding of the rights of children with disabilities in relation to personal autonomy, participation and decision making. You should provide relevant examples of where you supported these rights in your work placement. You should demonstrate professional practice and knowledge of working with children and supporting their rights, making reference to rights within legislation and conventions with regard to special needs.
Section 5: 10 Marks Candidates should provide a critical evaluation of personal development and learning while working at placement this should include: Personal development and learning including new skills; reflect on attitudes, values & beliefs Professional development linking theory & practice of learning and how to apply it Your understanding of the role of the SNA in planning and preparation in activities and care routines for children with special needs and the importance of promoting independence Your understanding of the importance of collaboration, teamwork and confidentiality Your understanding of policy and legislation in relation to working with children with additional needs.
