Assignment Overview

Julie and Fred have been in an on-off relationship for the last 11 years. They have 6 children together; Fred aged 10; Tom aged 9; Nancy aged 7; Louis aged 3; Lottie aged 2 and Lilly aged 11 months. Julie and Fred are both active drug users although they have been drug-free for intervals in the past 9 years. Six weeks ago Fred was physically violent towards Julie which resulted in her being hospitalized for one week.

During this time Lottie and Lilly were placed in emergency care. The other four children have been in and out of care all of their lives. Fred has gone missing in the past for periods of up to two months including the two years prior to his attack on Julie.

Outline what advice you would give to Julie as a social care worker before she leaves the hospital. Include in your answer types of care orders, relevant legislation, rights of Julie, Fred, and the children. Refer to relevant legislation.
