Assignment 1 (LO 1)

Discuss and critically comment on the professionalization of Social Care in Ireland, including the planned registration and the ‘pros and cons’ overall (1,000 – 1,200 words)

Assignment 2 (LO 2 & 3): Planning care

Each topic will be covered in class and the assignment explained, and the assignment should cover these areas and can be divided into sections using headings. Academic writing should be used (including academic integrity and correct referencing)

• Identify service and/or cohort of service users and identify and analyse the benefits of rights-based, person-centered for them
• Identify and discuss how theoretical frameworks and models of practice can be used to support care planning and increase service users ‘social capital’ and societal involvement using the same service user group. This could include multi-disciplinary and interagency approaches, problem-solving, empowerment, emancipation, strengths-based approaches, and others identified from your reading on this topic. (2,000 – 2,200)

Assignment 3: In-class test

The details of the ‘in-class test’ will be confirmed later, but it will cover the 4^th LO – ‘Understand how the Irish Legal System interplays with social care principles and practice’.
