The purpose of a site investigation is to make sure that the groundwater conditions are ideal, that the physical properties of rock and soil can accommodate construction, and that the building will be safe for anyone who enters it

1. to study the general suitability of the site for a selected project;
2. to arm the design team with realistic information for a safe, practical, and economical design;
3. to evaluate and test the suitability of construction materials
4. to anticipate the possible difficulties and constraints that may be encountered by a specific construction method for a particular construction project;
