1. Module Description:
The module gives learners an opportunity to focus on being better people managers,
and colleagues, and team players by helping them understand why people behave the
way they do in organisations / in the workplace. The module will offer the
Organisational Behaviour theory underpinning modern management practice. It will
highlight individual, group and contextual/organisational influences on employees’
performance and satisfaction in organisations, and the relation of those influences to
certain metrics or outcomes or behaviours in which the organisation is interested, and
by which it measures success. It will highlight practical uses and applications of this
knowledge which can be brought to the workplace, e.g. diagnostic and solution design
skills
2. Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this module, learners will be able to:
1. Recognise the Individual, Group and Contextual /Organisational influences on
performance and satisfaction of employees and groups.
2. Use organisational behaviour theory to inform their analysis/diagnosis of peoplebased organisational issues.
3. Design/redesign practices and systems as solutions to organisational people-based
issues.
4. Recognise individual differences and value diversity.
5. Better manage work relationships and teams and groups.
