Part A:

• Analyze the key building regulations that are expected to be in place for an Irish dwelling of your choice. Provide a floor plan of chosen dwelling to support your answer.
• Analyze the fire safety features that are expected to be in place for an Irish dwelling of your choice. Provide a floor plan of chosen dwelling include supporting your answer.
• List the key building regulations and safety fire features which you consider to be important to make aware to the buyer on viewing.

Part B:

Ensuring your mentor facilitates you with work-based experience you are required to demonstrate knowledge of naturally occurring threats to building safety.

• Identify natural occurring threats to building safety and/or the safety of the occupants. Eg. Asbestos, Pyrite, Radon Gas, Dry Rot, Wet Rot, Woodworm, Condensation Mould Growth, Subsidence, Weather Extremes (Exposure/Ramifications/Temperature differentials, etc.. ), Water Contamination, Rodent Infestation.
• Analyze each of your chosen threats, how the problem can occur and the effect it can have on a building/occupants. Choose a dwelling and provide illustrations/floor plan to support your answer.
• Examine the necessary measures to reduce/eliminate these effects.
• Outline the implications a naturally occurring threat could have on the sale of a dwelling or development. Use your chosen dwelling or an experience you may have had to support your answer.
