You are required to produce a collection of work consisting of six key pieces of work that demonstrate the learner’s knowledge, skill, and competence within the healthcare setting.

Section 1:

Learners must produce a written work placement diary

Performance Criteria: Section 1.

This section should include:

• A brief introduction.
• A detailed account of the learners’ time in the workplace.
• A Minimum of seven entries are to be included.
• Entries should include all activities carried out on a daily basis
• Examples of any work carried out in the workplace

Section 2:

Workplace audit:  The learner must choose a particular area in the healthcare environment and evaluate it with regard to healthcare theory and current legislation

Performance Criteria: Section 2.

This section should include:

• Accurately chosen area
• Rationale behind choice
• Appropriate links between theory and practice
• Understanding of current legislation

Section 3:

Learner Record: The learner must produce two learner records.  They must choose an area from the healthcare environment and carry out a formal presentation of an exercise, for example, the importance of Infection Control in Healthcare

Performance Criteria: Section 3.

This section should include:

• Evidence of observation
• Evidence of planning
• Links between theory and practice
• Evaluation of activity
• Evidence of personal and professional learning

Section 4:

Research Essay: The learner must choose one of the themes from the module and show how it relates to the healthcare environment

Performance Criteria: Section 4.

This section should include:

• Overview of the healthcare sector
• Outline the themes of the modules
• Clear links between chosen theme and Healthcare philosophy and practice

Section 5:

Skills Audit: The learner must produce a personal skills audit (A)

Performance Criteria: Section 5.

This section should include:

• Clear formatting
• Evidence of how skills to be developed will support the learner
• Personal goals outlined
• Appropriate action points
• Effective suggestions for support
