The Programme Objectives
This program aims to develop in our Learners the highest level of professional competence as practitioners of the Montessori Method of education and to establish in them a wide knowledge and a deep understanding of educational practices in conjunction with the principles set down by Síolta and Aistear.

On completion of this component learners will be able to:
Understand the pedagogical approaches and national guidelines that guide early childhood care and education setting;
Facilitate the provision of quality experiences for children in early childhood care and education setting;
Create an awareness of the importance of the physical surroundings, the curricula, materials, and significant people within early childhood care and education setting and their impact on how comfortable the child is and how the child relates to others and achieves their goals.
Demonstrate a significant depth of knowledge and understanding of the
educational and pedagogical principles, theories, and concepts impacting on pedagogical practice;

Evaluate the broad range of pedagogical approaches and programs and assess their implementation within an early years setting;
Explore the role and the interrelationship of the adult in the early years setting, taking into consideration the individual needs of each child;
Develop a knowledge set of the strategies available to facilitate assessments for learning for children;
To support the implementation of standard 14 Siolta children’s “well-being, identity and belonging” with everyday strategies which help build confidence, happy, well adjusted, and open-minded children;
Display a developed and integrated knowledge of the theory and understanding in each subject area on the early year’s curriculum including its delivery, indoors and outdoors;
Identify gaps in personal needs, knowledge, understanding, and skills and those working alongside you within the Early Childhood Care and Education setting and identify appropriate means to gain these attributes;
Reflect on a personal learning journey to include personal attitudes, values and beliefs, newly acquired skillsets, and the impact that these have on the early years setting, staff, parents, and children within the early years setting.
Adhere to the standards, principles, and themes as set down by Síolta and Aistear.
