TV World Ltd stores recently ran a closing down sale. They put an advertisement in the Irish Times that stated that the first 10 customers into the sale on the 20th of February would be given the opportunity to buy a TV valued at €1,600 for €700. A customer has contacted the head office and explained that he drove from Limerick to the store in Airside, Swords, he was
the 8 the customer in the store that morning and was told the TVs were all gone and he was not eligible to buy one. When he argued with the manager he was told “he hoped he understood it was just an advertisement”. The customer is claiming breach of contract.
