Describe the typical environment and how it complies with the specific educational philosophy – you can include both the indoor and the outdoor environment here.
Describe what the typical indoor and outdoor environment should look like – what should be included, what sort of textures, materials, etc. should be in the environment. Discuss the importance of a quality-controlled ECCE environment and how this is maintained.
2. For each method, identify two appropriate activities, stating how the activity reflects the principles of the approach and how it promotes the child’s development.
In this section, Identify appropriate activities which reflect the theory of the different methods and which promote at least one area of development – note which area of development each activity approaches. You can use existing activities here or devise your own – if devising your own, ensure that you remain true to the principles of the method. 3. Chose Option A or B
A) For each method, plan and implement an educational routine/activity according to the philosophy. Outline why you selected this particular philosophy and what the routine/activity is. Outline how you implemented this routine/activity.
In this section, clearly identify what the actual routine/activity is (name, key features, etc.), whether the routine is child-led or adult-led? What is it about each approach which appeals to you more than the others (it could be the underlying principles, it could be the approach to the curriculum, it could be the equipment or the environment – or something else!). How did you implement this activity – consider the Kolb cycle of Plan – Do – Review and remember a plan should have specific actions, key personnel, and a clear timeframe (i.e. who will do what and when). Or, if you are unable to attend placement at this time due to school closures please consider the following option;

4. Chose Option A or B
A) Evaluate the routine/activity you implemented.
In this section, consider how the overall activity went – how was the planning process – too onerous or just right? Did you have sufficient resources – equipment, staff, and time? Did the activity suit the developmental stage of the children? Did the activity encourage/support the children’s development? Did the activity reflect the key concepts of the method? Were the children engaged in the activity for the duration or did they lose interest?
