Include the various types of therapeutic interventions that may help the client – music therapy gentle encouragement – videos of favorite musicians  Recording of piano To help with memory loss – Persevere with Theresa – gentle unhurried approach – recordings that she can make & playback to the residents to encourage recognition of the tunes – and sing-song –

Can also use diversion therapy – reminiscence validation/orientation any therapy that may help with memory loss Reassurance comfort understanding patience – tone approach respect dignity putting Theresa before her illness

Encourage personal effects – family involvement – if family members can play instruments encourage to bring into the healthcare environment memory box – personal effects – photograph of school teaching days

Chalk/board cleaner – music / English books – audio – finding out what music composer she likes to listen to too.

Physical disability

Working closely with the MDT – physiotherapist / occupational therapist  help with the dexterity of hand movements – types of specific exercises or small skills that may ease constriction – medication review or anti-inflammatory creams – include Consultant Rheumatologist –  hand message –   use of supports or specific grips that help with fine motor skills – regular exercises

Have suitable ergonomic equipment – keeping hands warm using gloves ….

Assistance with balance – ensure correct footwear – what can be causing unbalance – difficulty with inner ear Hypotension – vision satisfactory /reduced/blurred

Medication /

Vision uneven surfaces –

Supply appropriate equipment that may be helpful – physiotherapist recommendations –

Tripod / zimmer frame

Important to monitor Theresa – is the equipment helpful – encourage independence – and assist when required – always encourage short walk – to give her confidence –
