Scenario 1:

You are currently employed as an Analytical advisor for HSE. You have been assigned the task of undertaking a review of the legal, policy and ethical framework surrounding the Social Care industry. You must report back to your manager with a report outlining several key areas.

In the report you must explain how specific national and international law influence and inform the equal and fair treatment of others in health, care and support services and implement different and relevant legislation and policy regarding safe and healthy conduct in own practice. Analyse recent health and social care legislation or national policy in relation to its importance in informing rights and responsibilities of health, care or support service practitioners while critically review ways in which health, care and support service practitioners can ensure currency and compliance with relevant legislation and national policy through ethical practice.

Scenario 2:

Kerry works as a newly qualified solicitor for the HSE. She has been asked to undertake a review of the most recent developments impacting the social care industry. Kerry has been asked to address a member of key issues in her review referring to case history.

You will need to describe the relationship between law, policy and ethical requirements in relation to a real case scenario in a health or care setting whilst explaining the impact of relevant law and policy on the outcome of a real case scenario. You will also need to explain in detail how chosen law, policy and ethical considerations might result in different outcomes to the case scenario while critically reviewing ways in which health, care and support service practitioners can ensure currency and compliance with relevant legislation and national policies through ethical practice.
