The objective of this project is to develop and install an information system that will enable recipients of health care delivery in Cork to access any formal records of their engagement with their health care providers. There is an assumption that whatever system is provided will leverage information technology – it is not going to be a purely manual paper-driven information system.
The healthcare information system will enable anybody that receives healthcare in Cork city to be able to access their healthcare information. This information may range from blood test results to radiology reports or general clinic attendance. The expectation is that any person (Irish citizen or not) who receives healthcare in Cork city will be able to access any information formally recorded in relation their engagement.
