Guidelines

Although absenteeism can’t be totally eliminated, excessive and persistent
levels have a direct and immediate impact on both team and organisational
functioning and can have negative implications for employee relations.
Outline the challenges and problems created by poor attendance and
absenteeism. Ensure to back up your points with academic references.
Discuss the steps that a front-line manager could take to manage absenteeism within a team/organisation. Ensure to back up your points with
academic references.

Please include the following sections in your essay (Note: these are not
headings):

 Title page

 Introduction

 Main Body

 Conclusion/recommendations – You may include recommendations,
such as a list of things you believe should happen.

These must logically relate to findings in your essay.

 Bibliography/References

Your sections should be grouped and set in a logical way that is easy to
follow. Do not write the essay using “I”, you should discuss “The purpose of
this essay…. this essay has found”.
