Assignment Description
You are required to perform an external and internal analysis on a case organisation of your choice and address the following areas:
Part 1: The External Environment (30%)
Examine the macro environment and the task environment using appropriate frameworks (e.g. PESTEL, STEEPLE and Porter’s 5 Forces) to identify the most significant threats and opportunities for this organisation.
Part 2: The Internal Environment (30%)
Internal environmental scanning of the organisation’s resources and capabilities (e.g. through the VRIO test and/or value chain analysis) with a view to identifying the most significant strengths and weaknesses facing the organisation.
Part 3: Corporate Governance, Ethics, and Culture (15%)
Highlight significant considerations in corporate governance, ethics, and culture affecting the organisation.
Introduction & Conclusion (15%)
The report should also contain a brief introduction to the organisation and industry and conclude with your own interpretation of the most critical issues for the organisation.
The case organisation can be national or multi-national but you should have access to sufficient information to complete a comprehensive analysis.
The essay should be well supported with a wide range of relevant material and research, cited and fully referenced.
