Introduction
When you are planning a presentation, your have to consider the theme of your talk, how useful it is to your audience, and the most effective way of persuading your audience of your idea. How you present your message depends on many variables – including your audience, the medium you use, and your performance as a speaker. This week’s activity explores these ideas, with emphasis on reflecting on what constitutes an effective presentation, including new modes of communicating remotely.
Purpose
The purpose of this activity is to assist you in designing and planning an effective presentation. Your task is to research and find a resource which you believe best reflects the elements of good presentation design and which will help you to prepare for and plan an effective presentation. By reflecting on this, you will learn from others, and it gives you the opportunity to engage in research with your peers and enhance your communication skills.
Task
You are asked to research and find one relevant source which communicates your learning from the module and showcases your understanding of presentation techniques. This may be a journal article, magazine or newspaper article, book, podcast, video, websites, Ted Talk, blog, or other relevant sources. State why it appeals to you, what the main lessons are from this, and how it will help you prepare for future presentations. Post your reflection (between 250 & 1,000 words) in the Activity 3: Designing a Presentation forum by the due date in your module calendar: Activity 3: Discussion Post – Due As this reflection is in a blog style, no formal citations are necessary (just provide the links to any sources used).
