The challenges come with that coaches in the gaa gain reconigination for there achievements as a player going into coaching while not having any coaching experience. Trying to get them to develop understanding to coaching, A lot of coaches when working with there teams tend to coach as they were coaches and what worked for them and maynot what would wiork for the teams and players that they are working with and this creates challenges intrying to support and education coaches within our structures

Section 2
Gaelic Games in my view is new to research and can be slow in using research to inform practice. Coaches and teams can be slow or scared to use research informed practice . and this causes challenges . Also coaches that come from a playing back ground and successful players them selves have there own beliefs and experience in how things could or should be done and they are again slow to use research informed practice. They do have there own beliefs and charactistics and focus more on there own Professional Judgement and decisions making .

Section 3
There is a lot of research out there on the benefits if small sided games and conditioned games to develop players technical tactical and physically in sport. In recent years this has been a big focus for coach education in Gaelic games. However the challenge that this brings coaches is that the find it difficult to commit to the learning that this approach takes and the coaches are more comfortable to use drills and go back to default. As some coaches are comning from there own experience they have learned that the drills and skills approach , they are not open to small sided games .Research shows the benefits and challenges of this approach
