Portfolio Assessment – Part B (60 %)

For the LRP module, refer to literature throughout the portfolio that is relevant to the content within the module – give examples as possible of SAC best practice guidelines and compare your and your settings’ practice to SAC practices around the globe – positive or negative. Refer to evidence in appendices as much as possible.

You are required to complete a professional portfolio documenting the process of change to improve the School Age Childcare (SAC) provision in your setting. The portfolio should be presented as a professional piece of work adhering to academic standards, including accurate citing and referencing, a reference section and adherence to the word count, 4000 words (- +10%), and supporting evidence (in appendices).

With an emphasis on play/rest/recreation, you are required to critically examine the SAC in your service and identify an area for improvement and implement a detailed program of change that reflects your skills, knowledge and understanding of an appropriate SAC environment (indoors|& outdoors) in providing opportunities to support children and young people’s holistic development.
It is important to align the change with the inclusive ethos of the setting, by considering gender, age, and appropriateness for all participants.
