⦁ Learning Activities:
This module engages with the real-time international business environment and in addition to examining theoretical materials and practical case studies, it will be necessary for students to be aware of key contemporary issues as they arise. Flexibility will therefore be key to succeeding in this module. This will mean flexibility in terms of content, delivery modes, and learning. The teaching and learning strategy will focus on understanding, problem-solving, and application of knowledge. The module encourages students to take a holistic, social, environmental, critical, and analytical look at issues arising in the management of international organizations. The overall objective is to introduce students to some major issues that face and influence today’s business in the International Environment.
As the module is built around current issues there may be a necessity to change and adapt the module content to reflect on and discuss issues as they arise. A primary aim, therefore, is to stimulate student inquiry and promote independent student learning. The learning tasks in the module are designed to encourage collaboration, problem-solving and self-directed learning with a view to understanding and applying the key concepts of management within the flexible parameters of high-level business administration and innovation in an international context.
Guest lectures and interactive workshops will be facilitated where possible and appropriate, with relevant industry experts invited to present to the group to discuss key aspects of the module. In each case, the guest lecturer will choose a topic from the syllabus where they can give specific industry examples.
With the guidance of their lecturer, the learner will engage in, problem-based learning through the analysis of practical (real-world) scenarios, case studies: theoretical and practical.
