The project is to design a workplace well-being project for your organization. The project will be carried out step-by-step throughout the module. As part of each week’s session, you will be prompted to define a part of the project, so that by the end you will have all the building blocks and just need to put them all together.

You will have one week after the last session before your submission deadline. The objective is for you to demonstrate your learning from the course in a practical tangible form that will be useful to you and your organization after the end of the course. You may even be able to go on to implement the project or something similar in your organization.

We have put together some questions for each session to guide you into the information we are looking for within your project. The topics covered in each session should have a word count of minimum 400 words.

Session1- Defining Wellbeing

  • Does your organization follow more a hedonic or eudaimonic tradition?
  • What dimensions of workplace wellbeing will you focus on in your project? and why?

Session 2-Sociotechnical systems and wellbeing

  • Choose a role to focus on for your wellbeing project
  • Analyse the role by looking at the implications of each of the 5 types of influences on well-being covered in the study material – task, individual, team, organisation and sector/society? Highlight what you think are they key factors to be considered at each level for each role.

Session 3-Organisational Psychology and Wellbeing

  • How can the human resource department support you in your workplace wellbeing project? what polices could be changed?
  • What form of leadership do you think would benefit your workplace wellbeing
    project? Do these leaders exist within your organisation? Or would they have to be trained? Or maybe do you need to hire new leaders?

Session 4- Social Psychology and Wellbeing

  • How could you apply social learning theory and social identity theory into your
    project?
  • Are there any changes that need to happen in the organisational culture? What
    norms are working and what norms are not working?

Session 5- Individual Psychology and Sustainability

  • How can the theory of planned behaviour help you in supporting your employees in making healthy choices?
  • Are there obstacles for upward communication within the organisation?

Session 6- Implementing Workplace Wellbeing

  •  What organisational strategy could you use to implement the changes you want in the wellbeing dimensions you are working on?

Session 7- Making it Work

  • Is a workplace wellbeing management system needed to support your project? What should it deliver to your project?
  • How will the impact of your project be measured?
  • How could nudges be used to influence these key behaviours? (Anchoring, availability/priming, popularity in particular)
  • Where could the design principles for sustainability be applied to the project?• Choose a role to focus on for your wellbeing project
