You have been appointed as overall PM and your first task is to present to the Steering Committee a balanced review of the value of implementing a formal PM methodology based on one of the Bodies of Knowledge (BOKs).

You are aware of strong views amongst key stakeholders, some of whom consider the adoption and roll-out of a BOK to be pivotal to future project success, whereas others are critical of the prescriptive approach advocated by the professional bodies and are of the view that ‘best practice’ and linear models have no place in today’s complex, uncertain and volatile environment. Please develop a critical appraisal of the issue and make a recommendation to the Steering Committee as to the most appropriate path forward (500-750).
