Subject | BU2510: Organisational Behavior |
Organisational change is an inevitable consequence of organisational life. The recent changes to organisations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic are an example of how changes can be accelerated by an external force.
Part A
Using your organisation, OR an organisation you are familiar with analyse 2 organisational wide changes made as a result of the global pandemic.
- Outline the drivers of each change, the resistance to the change (from
employees/management/ other stakeholders) and - how the leadership of the organisation tried to ensure that the change process was deemed ‘successful’.
- Make recommendations as appropriate and use the tools and learnings from the module to assess each change process.
Part B
Based on your knowledge of contemporary OB, outline 2 initiatives that you would introduce to an organization to improve individual, team and organization performance and enhance the overall organization behaviour.
Description (include link to additional detailed brief if required, e.g. case study, drawings, etc.): Students are expected to analyse their own organisation, OR and organisation they are familiar with, from an OB perspective. Students are asked to analyse 2 organisational wide changes made as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Part A asks students to outline the drivers of each change, the resistance to the change, where this resistance comes from and how it manifests in the organisation. Students should address how the organisation/leadership overcomes this resistance, or if relevant propose how management SHOULD have dealt with this resistance.
