This project will aim to develop a Care Pathway for patient care pre and post-Angiogram in the Acute Medical Unit after being transferred from the Cath Lab. It will educate nurses in the unit on how to ensure quality care is delivered. It will also help guide the newly qualified nurses that have commenced on the unit who would not have as much experience.

The Acute Medical Unit gets many patients from the Emergency department presenting with chest pain, palpitations, and shortness of breath. Implementation of a critical care pathway for Acute Coronary Syndrome would include standardized management, patient education, and performance feedback. It will help optimize medical treatment such as dual antiplatelet therapy in a timely manner.
