The most vital organ in our body is the heart, it is essential because without it pumping blood to all other organs and organ systems, the human body could not function. Therefore, it’s crucial that blood is always pumping and flowing without any restrictions. That is ever more necessary for people that suffer from vascular diseases as their blood vessels have limitations such as being more thick or thin than is needed or there are obstacles that prevent uniform and efficient blood flow.

The intention of this project is to examine the effect of a vasodilator, which expands a blood vessel, and a vasoconstrictor, which contracts it. Should they work effectively, they would facilitate easier and more excelled vessel function and therefore ameliorate blood flow for those individuals. The role of vasodilator and vasoconstrictor will be assessed in both coronary and cerebral arteries to present the benefit and/or detriment of each.
