You are a Health & Safety Professional working on behalf of the PSCS and are responsible for drafting the Project Specific Construction Environmental Plan which will be constructed on a greenfield site at the edge of a housing estate and near a local river.

Some of the key hazards identified by the program are:

• Access and egress to the proposed construction site
• Clearing of the site/ground / setting up a construction road
• Water runoff from the proposed works to be controlled/managed due to the nearby river
• Security of the proposed site/site boundary / near a housing estate
• Environmental management of all soil/ spoil removal
• Waste management/controls for all plant/disposal of materials been used
• Setting up offices/welfare facilities/controls required
• Operatives working within/near open excavations
• Movement of heavy plant/ equipment
• Noise / dust / traffic management
• Passing public/visitors
• Emergency / Environmental response procedures

Prepare an assessment to capture the Environmental and Project risks/ hazards and controls to ensure the project can be completed in a safe manner.

• Approaches to assessing the employee risk to the above-identified hazards
• What measurement approaches can be used to quantitatively measure the 5 hazards during normal working operations
• Training & communications approach to the working staff
• Emergency response procedures for accident/incident / near misses
• Environmental controls for all waste management
