The transition you examine should be selected from the following options:
1. Special Educational Needs;
2. Parenting;
3. Workplace bullying;
4. Menopause;
5. Addiction.
You must give a presentation on your chosen transition in November. The class, together with the lecturer, will provide constructive feedback on content and ask questions for follow-up. You should consider/implement this feedback when developing your report.
Following this, you are required to submit a report that critically reviews the literature relating to the nature of the transition (e.g., how does it present itself at the societal level, is it a normative / non-normative transition, how is it operationally defined), how does the transition relate to developmental stage and personal identity, the research to date (what methods have been used, what are the effects of the transition as reported by the research community), and what has been the response at the societal level (e.g., support services, prevention/intervention measures). Importantly you should also assess whether the response has been evidence-based and whether it has been assessed in terms of its effectiveness. Finally, the report should address the implications for research and practice.
The CA will be graded on the basis of a presentation component (20% of the module) which students will present (w/c 30/11/20) and the written component (30%) which is the report (to be submitted 25/4/2021).

2. Use a systematic approach to examining the topic you have chosen (please recapitulate from lecture 1 content, the systematic approach).
3. Demonstrate critical thinking in relation to existing research and the design and evaluation of support/prevention/intervention measures (Please read critical analysis resources on Moodle)
