1. ACE Training provides a wide variety of professional development courses catering to business people in Dublin City since 2015. The range of courses has grown and so has their customer base. They now employ up to 10 employees and cater to over 750 trainees per year. Due to their growth, they now require a centralized database system to keep track of all their courses, trainees, instructors, etc. The following details have been provided by ACE Training: Teaching teams are set up to teach one or many advanced technology courses (e.g. Presenting Skills or Contract Negotiations). Each of ACE’s instructors can be assigned to a maximum of two teaching teams. An advanced course (such as Project Management skills) often includes multiple training sessions. Other courses such as Presentations for Beginners are offered in a single training session. Trainees can attend many training sessions. The company can handle up to 10 trainees per training session.

2. (A)Draw a logical data model (diagram) to represent the data requirements for ACE Training. Any many-to-many relationships should be resolved. The model should also show suitable primary and foreign keys as well as suitable attributes for each entity. Indicate at least one instance of a mandatory/optional relationship if possible. 70 marks

(B) Write a brief report which explains the difference between a data warehouse and a data mart, giving examples of how each could be utilized by a business.
