Task

Wavey Energy Ltd, an Irish company, is considering establishing a factory in either Kenya, Chile, Vietnam, or Spain to produce its new energy-producing wave turbines. In groups of three or four, each group member is to select one of these countries and analyze the political, economic, and legal situation of those countries. Then, based on your risk assessment of these countries, choose one of the countries and explain how you would manage that risk. You are then tasked with comparing and contrasting that country’s culture to Ireland using Hofstede’s and Hall’s dimensions and analyze how the company could manage the cultural differences between the selected country and Ireland. Finally, the group is to suggest an appropriate market entry strategy for Wavey Energy Ltd. Into the chosen country.

Learning journal

Students must keep a learning journal (maximum, 800 words) to analyze their contribution to the group in terms of the country that they researched, their sources, and how their research contributed to the group. Students must reflect in the journal on the things their group is doing well or not so well, and consider what they could do to improve in later stages of the task/project. Students must detail:

1. What they liked most and least about the group;

2. The most and least effective things about the way the groups worked;

3. Their contribution to the group in terms of research on the topics as well as the Executive Summary, Introduction, Recommendations, and Conclusion;

4. Their sources of information and analyses;

5. The strengths, weaknesses of the group and the areas that could be improved
